MoP Beta Monk Leveling Part 1

Today’s video is a but off the topic of hunters and gold making, I finally drop my hat down and did some Monk leveling with a panda. I ran this livestream with my mic off, mostly because I wanted to focus on playing and not so much on trying to talk about it. I some time will start talking and forget what I’m doing in-game. I had an issue with the stream as it wasn’t even running and I level a few levels before I noticed it. So that is why it seems it starts at level 4.

I’ll come out and drop some opinions on the monk class. It’s really fun, compared to other classes that I don’t enjoy as much (Shaman and Warlock) the new monk class seems to have that edge to it that not only makes it fun but pretty cool. The way the system works in the Chi is really cool. I thought maybe it would end up feeling like I was playing a rogue (given the energy bar) with a death knight (runes) but it turn out not to be and attack finishes build up really quickly which puts it ahead I think against rogues who use energy and combo points.

There is still much for me to go on and I’m hoping to get in some livestreaming tonight, I’ll either do an hour leveling my Horde Toon and then an hour of leveling my monk tonight, as always you want to check twitter for updates when I livestream. If you end up missing them that’s alright. All my livestreams are uploaded to YouTube and are posted on here so even if you’re unable to come to the livestream and chat you can always watch them later.

NU Live: Day 3: Leveling Orc Hunter and Making Gold

In day 3 of my low-level orc hunter on Darkspear (US) I jump back in shortly doing some gold making and leveling and talking about a few things. Finally reach level 18 and hopefully I can keep this up and level a bit faster than I have been. I really want to get this character up there. I’ve also started a new hunter one I wont reveal just yet but he’ll be a level 60 twink on the horde side. It’s gonna be a whole lot of fun I can tell you that much.

Selling Vendor items

sellingvendoritems

First off, there has been many people who have talked about selling vendor items for profit, this goes from everything to vendor patterns, copper rods even fresh water. There is a reason for all these things and why they sell, people wonder.. well I buy an item off the vendor, walk 2 feet to the auction house and sell it for sometimes 10 times the amount and they sell? HUH?

Well first off I’ll point out some clear ones, some others are not so much. The reason patterns for professions sell is some people are either too lazy to look them up let alone travel in the game to get them. And that’s to say if the item is even there (if it’s a limited time one).

To be frank it also comes down to people not knowing about them. I know that there are so many patterns that you can buy from a vendor that you can’t expect everyone to know you can get them easy and cheap. I mean I’ve sold fresh water for like 2g when the vendor to buy them is just a few feet away. There are so many items you can buy for cheap and flip for a small or large amount.

Look at fresh water and copper rods, even simple wood. The reason these sell is for one you need a copper rod for enchanting, most people don’t realize you can buy them right from the vendor. Same goes for fresh water which is needed for a few patterns, but people don’t know so they buy them thinking they are some world drop. Lets face it, not everyone looks at Wowhead and not everyone is gonna take the time to search for every pattern in the game for whatever they are looking to get.

Now, there are people who have talked about making level 1 characters and selling their starter gear. I myself don’t have room on my main server to do this and while some will say they’ve flip these items for 100s of gold, I would say that realistically I would spend maybe 50g on these white items. But then I know you can just make x race and x class and get x starting gear so I wouldn’t personally even back in the day when I only had a few high level characters and 2-3 low-level bank alts. I’m not talking about that however, I’m talking about vendor gear, that you can buy from the vendors for as little as 2g and flip them for 25g. Yes for the last week while I was working and doing my shuffle, I was messing around with this on another character of mine, who’s in another guild I control where his gold I didn’t count in my weekly shuffle total.

TSM Vendor Sells

Now this character also sells my other vendor items like foods, etc. I basically sell all vendor items on this character other than patterns which I sell on another character all together, this is due to how many items I would have to collect and allows me to see what sells. As you can see there, I told a few items for 25g. You may ask, what are these items? Well in Stormwind (and there are vendors who sell the same or models in Orgrimmar as well) that are just outside the Auction House in the Trade District, show here.

(note the pattern icons are from an add-on called RecipeProfit (for GatherMate2) which needs GatherMate2 to work)

There are three green makes on the map, each of these sell level 5 to 30 white items ranging from cloth, mail, leather, plate and weapons (both main, off-hand and range) that you can sell for well anything you want really. The first time I’ve posted them I sold them for 25g out right, because I wanted to see what sold and I got a few bites. I’ve up my prices to 27g 95s 95c to see what I get from it. You could go crazy and charge up to 200+ for these items but I personally don’t think they would sell, they are really low-level items. I have yet to check if these items can be use for Transmogrification or not. From my understanding the items must be soulbound to you, and these items do not but I’ve heard reports of some items that are white being able to use so maybe if and when I take the time to find out what white items can be used I’ll up the prices for those items only.

There is another reason these items sell and simply not because someone wants gear doesn’t know they get better gear from questing, doing dungeons even from crafting professions or just don’t know any better. Do you all remember that wow Iron-Man Challenge a few months ago? Well if you do.. then you should know that this was a gold mine. In fact the server this went down on mostly I level a character to level 5, spend some time to get some starter gold (I did the make a Death Knight level it some, vendor gear and other items for gold and mail it off, repeat until I had about 200g) I then went around and pick up all these items and posted them for 100g each. Some of these items sold but I quickly realized that there was a whole lot of people doing this.

I found it rather strange that no one in the gold making community really spoke about this. Maybe they didn’t think that people would be willing to spend 100+ gold on items. Or maybe they didn’t think that buying an item for 45s and selling it for 25g or more was worth the time. After all the items need to move right? Given I pick up one of every vendor item and only about 6 items sold (and a few items of starter gear which I try out but the time it takes to make a level 1, send the items over is more time and requires either another account or a free space.) Personally a note on doing the selling starter gear, its only worth it as starting cash for a new server quickly.

Anyways I found it strange and left it alone and tested it on a few server I knew where big with the Iron-man deal and some I had no idea if there was, some items sold and some didn’t. What is really cool about this however is if you have a character who can get to the higher level zones there are higher end vendor items you can buy and sell for more. So, that’s my gold tip for today, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make a video for it, I really wanted too but for some reason fraps wasn’t working and I just figure I could take some screenshots and be just the same. Maybe a later update I’ll do a full vendor item run and show you.

Shuffle Week – Update 12k Loss?

professions-img

Well you can look at this two ways, you can look at I took a 12k lost this week or you can look at it that I gain a foot hold in the market and will make my gold bank then some. So I started the week, with 116k in the guild bank. This was collection of gold gain from all the professions and you could say to yourself well if you have all the professions plus 5 with Alchemy, then you should have more than 116k.

That’s another topic for another day, today I’m going to talk about my shuffle week challenge. As I spoke about, for one week I send only 50k gold out of my 116k, all my other professions took a back seat other than those used in the process of shuffling. Now that is not just ore, I was also shuffling cloth and herbs but sadly I just couldn’t find the time to do them on top of ore.

Reason being is that someone post like 500 stacks of ore for 45g a stack and another day someone posted 200 some ore for 28g and another day near the week I pick up 640 stacks of ore for about 43g each. Now you may ask yourself.. well that was bots, and likely it was.. but you can’t look at me and tell you wouldn’t pick up either.

Now 50k and out of that I lost 12k would seem like damn you lost gold doing a shuffle, well two things happen and this is the reason why.

Why the loss

First off that over 2000 stacks of ore, and to be frank no server can really support that at least not this late in Cataclysm the fact is this, when I stated the challenge I had maybe half a stack of Inferno Ruby’s and for the most part the server I’m on doesn’t support Inferno Ruby at 300g, in fact they dip around, I’ve seen them as high as 800g each uncut to 150g and cuts from 120g to 200g. This was how the market looked for me over the week and another point that things are slowing down I sold hardly any red gems at all, they are falling under 150g some days and I refuse to sell them for that.

After the week I now have over 300 Inferno Ruby’s to work with, that’s not just red gems but necks and rings I can make. So if I stop and think about this, had I done this shuffle week earlier in 4.3 or just in Cataclysm the amount I would have made would have been more and I would not have seen a 12k out right gold lost even know I went from 14 Inferno Ruby’s to 300 which at say 200g raw each would be 60k of mats I have in the bank right now.

I also end up losing gold on the bags, my TSM says that at the cost of the mats vs the current market I sold each 22 slot back (I only made 8 the first day and 4 in the middle of the week) at a loss of 2g per bag. I also made 36 slot enchanting bags the first day, I made 8 and only sold about 2 or 3 of them so far for about 500g per. So after the 3rd day and all the ore I was catching, I end up not even shuffling cloth for Disenchanting mats and bags.

For herbs the same thing happen, it might just be my server, burn out or people playing Beta but I’m not seeing the sales as I did early in patch 4.3. While the only crafting I did was the result of shuffling, Gems and Scrolls sold slowly, I simply couldn’t get a hold in the Enchanting market and found I sold better just selling the raw mats then trying to make scrolls. Some of the mats I made, I end up sending off to my alt bank to store and some other higher end mats to my stockpile bank which I don’t allow TSM to see I have and there for its as if I don’t have those mats to use.

A few notes on cost this week. I still sold items on my characters, whatever was left over from the last weeks crafting I kept reporting and once it sold I didn’t make more. The reason I’ve done this was my hope was some sort of demand would come and the prices would rise. Yet I’m still seeing good sales on Leatherworking which is leaving me to starting a Leatherworking challenge week which I may start this weekend.

Other then having mats that just didn’t move, that normally would have I did spend some gold, on gear and enchants and gear for my characters. Unlike other gold makers who basically have their one main and a bunch of alts they really don’t care for (and yes I know some due) but I try to slowly gear them all up. Like I’m now able to heroics on my Death Knight and I spent some gold on a new Transmogrification set for him. I also started leveling the warrior once more and spent some gold on Transmogrification there. I end up jumping back into it after a month of very slow sales and very slow posting I came out making a few big sells which made some gold back, given I went in and bought out all the stock on the Auction House.

Another factor that could have effected the 12k loss was the fact I decided that I didn’t need to be paying for 3 accounts. I have my two accounts and my brother’s account I pay for. The only reason for the 2nd account was for bank alts but I found moving TSM data between two accounts was more trouble then it was worth… My Transmogrification bank was on that account and I basically killed it down to just chest and leggings in one bank tab in my main bank. So time I could have spent Disenchanting my rings from shuffling (which I crafted on Tuesday but didn’t even get them DE until nearly Sunday) I was late in getting in Enchanting so that could be a factor.

What did I learn?

I learned that I’m happy I wasn’t lazy at the start of Cataclysm when the shuffle was simply buy massive stacks of ore and vender all the gems but red and make profit. I mean while that might have been cool to break 200k maybe even 300k.. I’ve heard of people saying they made their first 500k from shuffling in those early days and once you reach half way it is kind of hard to lose it all.

But to those gold makers out there who started gold making in Cataclysm, and are now very close or are now gold cap as a result of the shuffle, I have no beef with you, you took advanced of something that Blizzard took far too long to fix and now the gold issue in-game is that everyone under the sun has gold where back in Wrath it wasn’t. I come from the days when the shuffle was more than just cut and vendor, even know ore back then some times got so cheap you could almost out right vendor the ore itself and make gold.

To each their own, I hope to reach my gold of 500k by the time Mist of Pandaria comes out, it’s hard because I want to buy upgrades for characters, I’m leveling a Rogue which I want to gear up, I have a warrior rising up. So I did spend some gold out of the guild bank, not very much I don’t have a final figure of how much right now but I can always look at my spending for the week. Overall, I end up not doing any Obsidium because it was over 60g a stack, Thorium Shuffle, Adamantitie Shuffle and Saronite I didn’t get to due how much Elementium Ore I had to deal with. I did buy some Iron Ore for the what I like to call Classic Shuffle, but it just was put in the guild bank due to having too much Elementium to deal with.

Thunderfury, Path of the Hunter

moltencore

A few months ago I started up a weekly route of raids I would farm on my level 85 toons, some of those raid bosses are easier to do on my Death Knight due to how Death Knight Healing is, but some of those fights I am slowly figuring out ways to solo on my hunter. I’m going to write-up a nice post about my weekly raid bosses I’m killing each week and how much gold, plus items I’m getting very soon.

I was in Molten Core, doing my farming of both rep and for transmog as well as just random items and looking to get Tier 1 fully on my hunter. When something really cool drop the 2nd week I jump in there, Now I’ve done it every week for 9 weeks so far.

My first kill on Ragnaros was back in Wrath of the Lich King, it was 4 of us going in there with a few level 60s wanting gear. That was the first time, I try to solo him a few times myself, I was able to get to him by myself, but when it came to Ragnaros I forget what it was but I would get knock up in the air high and land and take fall damage, so as you can guess I only try it a few times and gave up.

However now I’m able to down him really quickly. One thing I am working to do is building a level 60 gear set, with enchants and all that good stuff (likely BC ones) and going in and soloing it. I think that would make it much harder to do and more fun because I can kill all the boss and some trash right now in about 54mins time.

NU Live: Day 2: Leveling Orc Hunter and Making Gold

So it’s now day 2 of my low-level orc hunter on Darkspear (US) that I rolled not too long ago. I talked about Day 1 here, where I started off at around level 12 and making some low-level gold and leveling. In the first part of the video, I end up doing some pvp and well given I’m on a new server with no BOA gear and didn’t have gold to go and buy gear I simply went in with the starter gear.

I also did some talking about hunters current state of PVP in the MoP beta, some rants about the current state of battlegrounds when one side has less players than the others, etc. I talk about a number of topics, mostly hunters. I did some low-level quest and got a few levels. I hope to get more of these done in the coming week.

WoW Secrets – Truth Behind the Scam

wowsecets

Maybe it was the promo video that got me thinking, maybe it was the idea of a guide full of videos that I could play in the background while I was playing that got me to dive in and buy the guide. Maybe it was a simple, I want to try something new. Over the last week I’ve sort of hit a road bump in gold making, that I didn’t pull in as much gold as I did the week before, I felt like a number of my markets had really suffer due to the end of the expansion coming and people now spending time in the Mist of Pandaria Beta.

Whatever the reason really was, the truth is, I listen and bought into ‘WoW Secrets’ which let me tell you, the only secret I learn was how shitting this guide is for 17 bucks… per month. That is right folks, 17 dollars per month. A monthly fee for a World of Warcraft Guide, this guide covers the latest patches, PVE, PVP, and Gold making, the video, which on the promotion page talk about how you can learn to farm items quickly and the best way to do them.

I’m aware of the fact that no item that as a % to drop can ever be 100% gotten just by following some guide’s steps. What I was lead to believe that this guide would give me a good route into doing this. A way to farm so that I might have a better chance at getting it, even know there is no way to beat the game’s RNG.

With that said, unlike the WOW Crusher guide I read about that said you could get such items 100% by doing their steps, and plus the fact it was proved that the guide was a scam, information was taken from other websites that offer the same information for free, word of word, etc.

I looked at the PVP section, nothing new at all, same with the PVE section with Dragon Soul and even with the gold making stuff they had, nothing new and most of the content was totally out of date for the current game patch.

What pissed me off more than anything was just how poorly the guide’s site was, how poor the information was given and how poor the video’s where. I expected that the videos would have someone talking, not text on the screen, and it really annoyed me to no end how poor the video’s were done.

There really isn’t much to really talk about, the guide really is just pure shit. I know that this is sort of rant/review but what I can say is simply stay away from the guide… and I’ve got to the point now where I’m working slowly on my own wow gold guide which I’ll release here for free.

I spoke to Jim from Power Word Gold about it and that was when I learned that the person who runs this guide, the guy in the video is the same guy who pick up JMTC and is the one behind the WOW Crusher scam. Well two things, this is what I get for not really looking into something before I bought it and not being smart about it.

I read all the information and no where in the page or video did it say it was a monthly fee, that it cost just 17 bucks, which to be honest Jim of Power Word Gold is selling a 100 page gold guide for about 20 bucks (he has a price range of 3-20 bucks you choose to pay, which I think it’s a really nice deal).

Overall, there is no secret in WoW Secrets other than it’s full of itself, the front page is well design and the videos to promote it are really nice too, but then the videos in the guide simply are so poor that watching them you can’t even learn anything. For example it has really bad music that plays which is just down right annoying.

My last overall thought, is that I really hope I get my money back, I hate to have to call the bank and put in a request to get my money back, don’t want to have to explain to them, if nothing else I’ll take the 17 bucks lost that I paid to get access, but I will not pay a damn monthly fee for such shit. The biggest disappointment however has got to be the fact the The Gold Queen supports this guide. After all I was on her website browsing it and saw a banner add for it, The Gold Queen is a respected member of the Gold Community, so how could I go wrong right? Sadly I could and this questions things now about her and what she’s all about.

You can take this short little post for what you want, I’ll go out and say do not buy a gold guide for World of Warcraft. You don’t need it, don’t be lazy all the information can be found out there for FREE and if you have questions you can always hit me up on Twitter @NeckarUnrivaled or you can email me, ask me on my live streams or post a comment here.

NU Live: Leveling Orc Hunter and Making Gold

Today’s video I rolled a new orc hunter on Darkspear (US). I was just doing some questing and talking about things like leveling, hunters and gold making. I haven’t login to that character since this video as I want to try to get the whole leveling process and gold making on video for everyone to be able to see. Hopefully I’ll be able to get something with it done this weekend.

MoP Beta Screenshots

WoWScrnShot_041512_044518

Today’s going to be a short post, but I want to give some updates on what I’ve been up too this week. First off been live streaming a little more often, but the problem is right now the only real time I’ve had to live stream solidly for an hour or so has been really late at night.

I’ve been working on a new Hunter, on Darkspear on a friends server. Some of you might have remembered back before patch 4.3 when I started there with a human hunter and the goal was to do arena as Beast Master, well that didn’t play out as well as I wanted, I only was able to break 1600 rating which isn’t horrible I’d like to add, it’s respectfully with the com I ran in two was with a holy Paladin mind you.

What I’ve been doing this week has been leveling my orc hunter as well as doing my Shuffle Week which I really wish I could have live stream it more but I simply don’t have the time in the day time to do it. Plus how fun would a live stream be of me just shuffling ore, cloth and herbs all day long? Not very fun if you ask me. As a result of shuffling herbs I’ve jump back into Glyphs some, I’ve also been making a good lend way.

Not as much as I hope for but we’ll see how it pans out at the end, adding in the cost of goods I’ll have left and how much stock I end up building up from it.

So let’s get to the fun stuff huh? Like the Cataclysm beta, there are always really funny or weird things that happen in the beta that never made it to live. Stuff you would kind of sometimes see people end up doing on private servers, such as having pets the size of raid bosses, which I think is totally awesome!
